This Rous Island paradise, with 53.64 acres, is the former homestead of world known International Double Dory Racing champion Lloyd Heisler, who was entered into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1982. He lived here year round until 1995. Total of approximately 1,608 feet of direct oceanfront on the sandy beach northwest and rocky beach southeast sides of the island. The northwest sheltered side offers a year round landing site with potential to rebuild a wharf. The 1.5 storey house with dug well has original fireplace and bake oven in the kitchen with a Peacock wood cookstove and a few other original features someone may wish to preserve if they plan to renovate the house. Assorted wildlife make their home on the island, including deer. Ocean views of Mahone Bay and other islands, Maders Cove, Indian Point, Big Tancook, Second Peninsula, most of Chester Bay and Aspotogan Mountain.
